Despite concerning radon levels, some families cannot afford the cost of mitigation. The Lungs Matter: Home Radon Mitigation Grant Program can help.
What you need to apply
- The latest Notice of Assessment from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), showing a total annual household income below the median income of your province. If two people are on the home title, both submit a Notice of Assessment.
- Long-term test results (at least 90 days) from a C-NRPP certified radon test kit, showing mitigation is needed (above 200 Bq/m³).
- A quote from the C-NRPP certified radon mitigation professional who will do the mitigation.
The program is for mitigations that have not been done yet. If the mitigation is already complete, you are not eligible.
